On-Air Television Host / Digital Lifestyle Content Host and Correspondent
WAVY-TV 10 (NBC) in Hampton Roads, Virginia is looking for an on-air Co-Host for its one-hour daily lifestyle show "The Hampton Roads Show.” Airing at 11:00 am each weekday, "The Hampton Roads Show” is celebrating its 15 years in the Norfolk, Virginia market.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is a skilled and seasoned communicator who is adept at engaging viewers, guests, and clients in both a non-scripted, fun, lifestyle show environment and the social media world. Knowledge of current events, popular culture, and compelling subjects making news in Hampton Roads is key. The ideal candidate brings strong interview skills, a relatable on-camera personality, and an energetic social media presence. In addition to on-camera hosting of the lifestyle show daily, ideal candidate should be competent in finding, shooting, and editing their own engaging stories in the Hampton Roads community. Contributions to other WAVY-TV, FOX43, The CW Hampton Roads, WAVY+ programs and platforms may be required. The position will include some nights and weekends for shoots, social media contributions, as well as community/promotional events.
Requirements:
Two years on-air lifestyle interviewing/hosting experience is preferred
The ability to shoot, edit, and write your own tv-ready video stories is required
Our employees excel on multiple platforms - broadcast, connected television (CTV), digital web, and social media
Proven execution and understanding of how to write for the digital web is required
Adept at creating and managing social media with an understanding of daily posting of lives/videos/images to grow an audience
Ability to produce/host via live video production and streaming software (OBS or VMix) is a plus
Experience with hosting sales-integrated content is a plus
