WFXR / WWCW in Roanoke, Virginia is looking for an energetic and resourceful Digital Content Producer. As the landscape of news and information becomes increasingly focused on digital platforms, the ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the role. Expectations include but are not limited to:
-Post content for various digital platforms, including wfxrtv.com and the station's social media pages
-Source, research, write and proofread digital stories with an overriding focus on accuracy and clarity
-Work closely with teammates to develop and enhance content from our televised newscasts to be used on digital platforms, and vice versa
-Seek new and/or different ways to engage users with our digital content
-Assist with large-scale breaking news and weather events
-Join the team in participating in community-focused activities and events
-Other duties as assigned
Desired qualifications & skills:
-Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
-Fluency in English
-Excellent oral & written communications skills
-Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and prioritize assignments
-Proficiency with computers, printers, fax machines and other office equipment
-Commitment to working and communicating professionally, respectively, and constructively with coworkers, supervisors, department heads, corporate personnel and external parties
-Flexibility to work multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays
