WAVY Unpaid Promotions Intern, Spring 2024
WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic PROMOTIONS DEPARTMENT INTERN who has the excitement and confidence to bring to the department tasked with promoting the top local TV station. This intern will learn to write, shoot, and edit promotional commercials, be trained to craft the eye-catching social media posts for events and network shows, and bring their energy to working on station initiatives/events.
This is an UNPAID / FOR-CREDIT position for the spring semester 2024 only.
We are looking for someone who has completed college-level writing and editing courses; has working knowledge of video editing software like AVID or Final Cut, but experience in Adobe Premiere preferred; videography course/working knowledge SONY HD CAM, CANON preferred; deadline-oriented is a must.
The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other. Before beginning, the intern *must be* enrolled in a college degree granting program, and *will be required* to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.
12-15 hours per week on site. Ability to work a varying schedule Monday - Friday required; days and times will vary and be set in agreement with supervisor.
