Traffic - Station Specialist

Are you interested in the behind the scenes work that goes into broadcasting the programming and commercials you see on local TV?   WFXR / WWCW has an immediate opening for a full-time Traffic Station Specialist. 

 

Responsibilities:

The Traffic Station Specialist assists in the preparation of daily commercial logs for multiple stations which includes these tasks and others:

  • Entering National/Local/Multi-channel copy instructions and materials
  • Maximizing Revenue Opportunity through log management by frontloading and placing displaced inventory
  • Maintaining commercial material libraries
  • Communicating with account executives and sales managers regarding missing, incomplete, or incorrect copy instructions
  • Communicating with Promotion and Public Service departments to ensure spots are on the log
  • Working with Sales Management to manage commercial inventory
  • Processing orders with Sales Management assistance
  • Finalizing stations logs
  • Serving as a liaison between hubs and stations
  • Performing quality control checks including monitoring discrepancies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Skills:

  • Previous experience with Wide Orbit highly preferred.
  • Duopoly experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Outlook.
  • BA in business, marketing, communications or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to learn research and data software programs such as Nielsen, ComScore, Marshall Marketing, Kantar, Wide Orbit, Wide Orbit Sales, and Matrix.  Training will be provided for all. 
  • Two years experience in a television station traffic department or traffic role preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adaptable and flexible with ability to shift focus on new priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a proven team player.
  • Good organizational and time management skills a must.
