ABC7-DC is seeking a bold Multi-Platform Content Producer to join our team! Our Multi-Platform Content Producers pitch and produce original story ideas WJLA, WJLA.com and social media platforms. We are looking for top quality journalists who know how to speak to our multimedia audiences.

 

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong news judgment, attention to detail, copy editing skills, familiarity with content management systems, familiarity with the Adobe software suite and knowledge of how to reach and interact with large audiences on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms.  Our team is made up of content producers who collaborate and work alongside of our Assignment Desk Editors.  Above all, we are seeking a driven, creative candidate who works well under pressure, believes in digital-first journalism and can help guide the newsroom in digital-first initiatives.

 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, gathering updates from reporters in the field, writing articles, headlines, teases and push alerts, producing digitally-optimized video and graphic elements, managing social media platforms and managing the homepage.

 

Job qualifications include:

  • College degree or minimum one (1) year relative experience in the field
  • Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
  • Must be able to meet daily deadlines
  • Must be flexible with schedule - weekend, evening and holiday shifts may be required
