NEWS PHOTOJOURNALIST: Job Summary- WHSV-TV is accepting resumes for a full-time news photojournalist. The successful candidate must have a passion for great storytelling through video. Must thrive off of being the first to the scene of breaking news, while also having creative ideas for lighter, feature stories. Will be responsible for running live shots using TVU. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing news scripts for stories they cover. Must be able to work under tight deadlines. Although mainly a weekday dayside shift, must be willing to work all shifts. The successful candidate will have a “can-do” attitude and maintain the ability to work well with others. General Responsibilities- - Gather news through excellent video - Work closely with reporters and producers to cover news - Edit video for stories and newscasts - Run live shots using TVU - Creatively shoot and edit TSRs (longer form, in-depth reports) - Train/coach reporters on "best practices" for shooting and editing - Organize and inventory photography equipment (such as mics, lights, cameras, tripods, and other related gear) - Help news director budget for photography department - Write stories you shoot using iNews Qualifications- A Broadcast Communications degree and/or technical training is a plus - Must be a team player with a positive attitude - Knowledge of a working television newsroom is helpful - Must be familiar with non-linear editing - Desire to fly a drone and maintain FAA drone license Additional Information- Please apply online at Gray Television provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
