2005 Summer Convention

The Virginia Association of Broadcasters’ 68th Annual Summer Convention took place (see photos) on June 23-25, 2005. The convention took place at a brand new hotel – The Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

For those who missed the convention, we had a record crowd. Herb Cohen, our featured speaker, did an excellent job and the VAB staff heard many compliments on his program.

The EEO seminar was well-attended by those who wanted to improve what they are doing in their stations, and a letter has been sent out to all who attendedo that they will receive FCC credit for attending .

The awards program was well-attended also and our winners are listed throughout the newsletter. Mayor Douglas Wilder, our Distinguished Virginian, gave a moving speech and received a standing ovation by all attendees.
